An opportunity has arisen for Senior Associate - Risk to provide subject matter expertise to M&G Real Estate as part of the M&G Real Estate Risk team. You will support the Head of Risk in maintaining a robust Operational Risk framework and its effective operation. Operational Risk reporting and Analysis is a key component of the role alongside the continued development, implementation and maintenance of the other Operational Risk framework elements.
What will you be responsible for?
Your main responsibilities will be to support delivery of the M&G Real Estate Annual Risk plan across all elements of the operational risk framework as well as champion the development of the risk framework and raise risk awareness across M&G Real Estate.
Deliver high quality risk reporting and analysis to internal stakeholders including M&G Real Estate Board, M&G Real Estate Risk Committee and Operational Risk and Governance (ORG).
Ensure there is an appropriate Risk Management framework in place for the global M&G Real Estate business.
Work in partnership with all business areas to embed the Risk Management Framework and promote and support maintenance of an effective risk culture across the business.
Provide advice and guidance to the business on effective risk mitigation strategies.
Support delivery of the Annual Risk Management plan across all risk framework elements.
Undertake reviews of emerging risks as directed by the M&G Real Estate Risk Committee.
Perform operational incident reviews and track actions to completion.
Co-ordinate with wider M&G functions on risk matters including Information Risk Management, Financial Crime Prevention Unit, Operational Risk and Governance.
Timely escalation of emerging risks and issues.
Tracking and reporting of all open issues and actions across M&G Real Estate. Support the business to manage down the volume of open issues and actions as required.
Represent the Real Estate business at group wide fora as required.
Co-ordination and production of Risk Committee reporting.
Understand and demonstrate positive behaviours in line with our attributes and expectations.
Proactively demonstrate the key elements of Building Our Service Relationships, particularly the top five elements, within all internal and external communications.
Understand Company’s Sustainability vision and apply the Sustainability Strategy as appropriate for your role.
Understand the Health and Safety responsibilities appropriate for your role and ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the relevant Company policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes responsibilities relating to your own H&S and others affected by your actions. Any concerns relating to H&S risks must be escalated to your line Manager and the Company’s H&S Manager.
What we are looking for
We are ideally looking for you to have a detailed technical understanding of operational risk management methodology within a Fund Management environment, excellent report production and analysis skills as well as interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels. You should be able to challenge business areas and senior management in an effective and professional manner, be able to effectively manager multiple tasks and competing priorities, have excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills along with working knowledge of Microsoft Visio process mapping tool.
