An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director - Operations to support the operations of M&G Real Estate, ensuring successful delivery of the day to day operations and initiate and derive operational change needs of M&G Real Estate (M&G RE) funds and structures.
You will support the Head of Operations in:
Taking responsibility for ensuring successful delivery of the day to day operational aspects and needs of M&G Real Estate (M&G RE) funds and structures.
Planning, developing and implementing the operational strategy to meet organisational requirements and expectations within agreed budgets and timescales, producing an efficient, effective and scalable operating platform to meet the global growth aspirations of the business.
Ensuring effective, efficient and integrated operational platforms and processes are in place (and periodically reviewed) to support business areas and their operational activities. This to include:
. Establishing and maintaining appropriate systems for measuring operational management effectiveness. . Ensuring that well controlled and documented operational processes exist within both M&G RE and at key third parties to support all RE funds. . Maintain awareness and knowledge of operational theory and development and provide suitable interpretation to Directors and key stakeholders.
Managing the end to end fund operating model and fund operations for the real estate funds (including internal captive funds and real estate funds shared with other parts of M&G) and their associated structures, ensuring that:
. Operational processes are operating effectively, are documented, well controlled and are being delivered to an appropriate standard. . Effective oversight and management of relationships with external service suppliers establishing, monitoring and reporting on service level agreements including: i.Luxembourg depositaries, central administrators and transfer agents; ii.ELP activities (Partnership commitment and drawdown process, information flow to Custodian; high level oversight of tax compliance reporting).
Designing and implementing effective operational models and processes to support the development of the segregated mandate business, and the development of the indirects business (UK, Luxembourg, Channel Islands options).
Work with M&G RE Product Development Team, Head of M&G RE Risk and Compliance, Head of M&G RE Legal, COO M&G RE Asia and other key contributors and stakeholders to ensure proper operational processes, systems, support, controls and capacity are in place to support and service all existing and new products/funds. This to include all operational processes/support for new Funds and non-standard portfolio structures, ensuring the operational processes and infrastructure are aligned to Group and M&G governance standards and protocols.
Oversight of business change activities and work in conjunction with the Head of Operations and other Board members in the formulation and delivery of strategic initiatives and business plan targets, ensuring:
. There is an agreed upon ‘roadmap’ of change projects that demonstrably link to the strategic objectives of the Company. . The change process employed ensures efficient and effective delivery of projects. . That there is sufficient project management MI to inform and enable appropriate decision making by the appropriate body including the Board. . Manage RE operational projects from start to completion, including where appropriate the post implementation review. . Lead Real Estate input on M&G wide fund operations projects. . Lead operational work streams in new product launches. . Represent team RE Ops on group wide strategic projects as required. . Act as Business Analyst resource on Real Estate Projects as required.
Ensuring close working relationships and collaboration with wider M&G Group Operations including with Information Systems, Business Change, Information Risk and Security, Premises, ensuring all M&G RE operational developments are appropriately coordinated and aligned within the wider Group.

Understanding the Health and Safety responsibilities appropriate for your role and ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the relevant Company policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes responsibilities relating to your own H&S and others affected by your actions. Any concerns relating to H&S risks must be escalated to your line Manager and the Company’s H&S Manager.
Fulfilling regulatory requirements, including timely completion of all regulatory training and declarations
What we are looking for:
You will have experience in a similar role, with a similar list of responsibilities and be used to being accountable. You should also have experience in enhancing operational processes and controlling operational risks within a business rather than merely maintaining the status quo, have a track record of successful implementation of systems and processes, ability to work to strict deadlines and to juggle competing priorities as well as have international experience (ideal) as is experience within the commercial property arena.
You should have the ability to take decisions and make things happen at pace, possess the diplomatic skills to ensure broad based acceptance, able to work with a variety of styles to ensure maximum empathy and collaboration with colleagues and communicate effectively with demanding stakeholders as well as have excellent execution capabilities and be adept and comfortable working on a cross-border (geographic) basis.
