Content Manager – Global Institutional and Real Assets

The M&G Communications team is part of the newly formed M&G Prudential Corporate Affairs department, which is responsible for all communications activity within M&G Prudential, including external and internal communications, transformation communications, public affairs, corporate citizenship, sponsorship and the M&G Prudential brand. The Corporate Affairs department will play a key role in shaping the identity and purpose of M&G Prudential as it prepares for demerger from Prudential plc and completes major internal transformational change.
The M&G Communications team for external media promotion of our brands, products and investment views to our customers, together with internal communications support for all M&G Prudential non-UK employees. While we are well known for our range of retail mutual funds, M&G also has a particularly strong position in creating and managing investment strategies across a very large range of asset classes on behalf of institutional customers such as pension funds, wealth funds and family offices, and is rated by Edelman as the number one institutional brand globally.
The main focus of this new Content Manager- global institutional and real assets role will be creating content for earned, owned and paid media in order to engage and inform our clients and other stakeholders audiences about institutional strategies and our investments in “real assets”, such as real estate, infrastructure and secured lending. The role involves working closely with business leaders and distribution teams and our investment teams to create a mixture of original material and curate/adapt of investment content we already have. The content will include written form (eg opinion pieces, blog posts, Linked-in posts, newsletter articles) and also video, infographics and animation.
- To understand the needs of our clients and how communications and content about our brands (and the M&G brand in particular), proposition and product range through the media can help us better meet these.
- To research good ideas for, and to deliver, timely, useful, engaging, market-appropriate multi-media content which differentiates our brands and business.
- To produce engaging content which supports our internal communications strategy and helps our teams feel part of M&G Prudential.
You will have:
You will be a good story-sourcer, writer and editor. You will know how to adapt your style for different audiences and formats, and how to translate sometimes complex information into clear, digestible, engaging content. You will have a strong interest in and good understanding of financial and economic terminology and concepts (eg what is a bond yield, the relationships between bonds, interest rates and currencies).
We’re looking for a self-starter who will be able to see a piece of work through from conception to delivery. A good listener with collaborative skills who can work with others to give external and internal clients what they need.
Previous experience in producing content for a variety of formats, including digital and social media, is essential. Experience as a journalist, ideally covering investment, financial, economic or business matters, is highly desirable.
Professional standard fluency in at least one language of a market in which we operate (other than English) (French, Italian or German preferred) is desirable. As well as a good knowledge of the professional institutional investment and/or alternative assets landscape.
