PurposeIn this role you will provide operational support to the Equities Dealing Desk to ensure the efficient running of the desk and some cross-over into Fixed Income operational activities. Key Responsibilities
Support the operational aspects of the Equities dealing desk including, management of Capital Raising trades, broker take on and trade amendments.
Production of Equities Dealing Desk COBs, monitoring completion and assisting with the highlighting of exceptions to senior management.
Support Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and produce the necessary reports and MI to monitor the performance of dealers, brokers and different trading strategies.
Creation and implementation of desk controls, in accordance with any regulations and the wider business.
Support the design and implementation of new MiFID regulations within Best Execution processes ensuring we meet the criteria set out by the regulation. Maintain desk procedures, how to guides and risk registers including working on constant process improvement to ensure operation is optimised and risk is reduced wherever possible.
Provide MI as required to Head of Front Office Operations, Dealers, Chief Investment Officer, Equities, etc.
Represent the Dealing Desk and the Front Office Operations team, when required, in meetings.
Build relationships with other business departments, establishing better working relationships and cross department fluidity.
Job & Personal Skills
This role is ideally suited to you if you can demonstrate:
Experience and understanding of the investment management process and Equities, ETF’s, Futures trade cycle is required.
Knowledge of support for convertible bond, fixed income/or derivative investment strategies preferable.
Able to demonstrate a good understanding of relevant regulations and the ability to interpret and apply.
Bright, enthusiastic and proactive. Due to the nature of the role, a self-starter is essential.
Numerate, logical and analytical approach, P.C. literate, especially competent with MS Excel.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, able to liaise effectively at all levels.
Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Experience in relevant related role / dealing or monitoring systems preferable.
Knowledge and Experience Relevant industry experience within asset management involved directly within dealing or trade life cycle as an alternate. Experience in an Asset Management operational environment and an understanding of risk and control within the asset management industry. Experience of managing complicated processes with a focus on risk reduction, standardisation and automation. Qualifications
Up to A-level with maths, business or economics at this level. Related degrees are preferable but not essential.
IMC qualified (or willing to learn).
