You will be responsible for the delivery of the operational risk agenda and framework across M&G Real Estate and to ensure compliance with the M&G Operational Risk standards along with supporting M&G Real Estate with the identification and mitigation of key risks.
You will be working effectively in a small operational risk 1st line team and collaboratively with the business to strengthen the M&G Real Estate control environment and support the reduction in errors and incidents.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Responsible as part of the M&G Real Estate operational risk team for delivering the annual Risk plan and ensuring a fit for purpose operational risk framework is operating.
• Working collaboratively with all business areas, providing advice and guidance on effective operational risk management and risk mitigation strategies. • Update M&G Real Estate’s Risk and Control Self-Assessment and the departmental risk assessments. • Undertake operational incident reviews with a view to identifying root cause/s and proposed mitigating actions. • Undertake assurance reviews as required to address areas of known risk. • Deliver high quality risk reports to internal stakeholders. • Timely escalation of emerging risks and issues to the Head of Operational Risk. • Represent the Real Estate business at group wide fora as required. • Support the business in managing down open issues and actions. • Support SOX and SAO certification processes as well as the annual AAF/SOC report update. • Relationship manage the Operational Risk and Governance Group function, Group Wide Internal Audit and other Central Functions. • To understand and demonstrate positive behaviours in line with our attributes and expectations. • Fulfil regulatory requirements, including timely completion of all regulatory training and declarations.

We are ideally looking for a bright graduate with significant and valuable operational risk experience within financial services. (e.g. Banking, Asset Management, Consulting).
It is essential for you to have a strong technical understanding of operational risk management methodology and implementation in a business context.
We are looking for you to demonstrate a strong willingness and interest to develop an understanding of the Real Estate asset class.
You will have excellent interpersonal and teamworking skills and stakeholder management skills along with the ability to communicate at all levels. You must be able to challenge business areas and senior management in a constructive and professional manner.
You will need effective report writing skills, presentation skills and analytical and reasoning skills and show effective management of multiple tasks and competing priorities.
